Christian Eriksen delighted about playing in front of the Old Trafford crowd at Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen is delighted about playing in front of the Old Trafford crowd. The Denmark international has been mesmerised by the atmosphere around the Theatre of Dreams.
Eriksen was one of Erik ten Hag’s first signings at United. The 30-year-old arrived at the Manchester-based club as a free agent. The Denmark international had enjoyed a short spell at Brentford before making his way to the Old Trafford side.
The former Tottenham Hotspurs star’s career at United has started on the front foot. Eriksen has surprised fans with the impact he has had in the team. The 30-year-old has been an essential part of the Dutch manager’s side.
Speaking on the club’s YouTube channel (h/t Metro), Eriksen details his experience of playing for United. The Denmark international is aware of the high expectations at the Old Trafford side.
“The crowd has been amazing, It comes with the wins.
“The atmosphere has been brilliant. Of course, they have been disappointed when it is going badly.
“[But] they’ve been very pleased when it’s going well. They expect a lot of things from us players.”
United had a disappointing start to the 2022/23 campaign. We lost against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in back-to-back fixtures.
However, since then, the Red Devils have shown fight and spirit to turn the season around. Ten Hag made a few changes after the 4-0 loss to the Bees and they paid off against the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
United went on a four-game win streak in the Premier League. However, the Red Devils failed to continue the run against Manchester City. The Sky Blues were ruthless against us in the derby.
The Dutch manager did not have an answer for Pep Guardiola’s team. Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat tricks as United lost 6-3. Eriksen struggled in the middle of the park against City.
