Speaking in an interview with  ESPN Argentina as quoted by Manchester Evening News, talented Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri was full of praise for Erik ten Hag and admitted that he could not wait to participate in the team.

The young winger, who had a pretty good pre-season with the Red Devils including a goal against Liverpool made the bench for the first time this season in United’s 3-6 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City.

Unfortunately for the winger though, Pellistri got injured after the pre-season game against Atletico Madrid which meant that the talented Uruguayan had to miss all footballing action until now and has just returned.

Pellistri played 45 minutes against Iran last week for his national team as he looks to build up to speed and make up lost time. The 20-year-old will be keen on doing the same for Man United and impressing Erik ten Hag.

Whilst the talented starlet admitted that he was not really fully fit, it is important for Pellistri to get regular game time under his belt as there is a high chance that he will be on the plane to Qatar for the World Cup.

Speaking about the season and Erik ten Hag, Pellistri had only good words for his manager and could not wait to get started this season.

“Erik ten Hag is a good coach, with a very clear idea; I really want to start participating in the team.”

After spending the last 18 months out on loan at Deportivo Alaves in Spain, Pellistri has stayed at Old Trafford this season and will look to fight for the starring role in the team although it is very difficult considering the competition.

The Uruguayan will be competing with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony, Anthony Elanga and even Marcus Rashford for his position, although the latter is largely being played as a striker this season by ten Hag.

The upcoming month is very crucial for Pellistri. He is talented, and considering the schedule, there is a chance that he will get a lot of chances for the Red Devils. It remains to be seen how he goes about taking his chance.
