Atletico Madrid have no intentions to sell Manchester United target Jan Oblak
According to Manchester Evening News, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have absolutely no intention to sell talented Slovenian shot-stopper, Jan Oblak, to Manchester United in January despite interest from the English club.
It has been going on for a while that Man United are looking for options to replace David de Gea between the sticks next season with contract talks with the Spanish superstar not really going on as expected.
Atletico shot-stopper Oblak has emerged as the favourite to replace de Gea at Old Trafford and it looked like the Red Devils were trying to sign him in January so that they would be able to ship out their Spanish No.1 for a fee.

However, it has emerged that the Spanish side have absolutely no inclination to sell their star goalkeeper, especially mid-season when finding a replacement for the Slovenian is set to be all the harder.
De Gea has been Man United’s number one shot-stopper for many seasons now. He has been at Manchester since 2011 and has established himself as a legend of the club. The 31-year-old goalie has had many memorable nights in a Red Devils shirt.
The Red Devils are no stranger to signing a shot-stopper from Atletico Madrid. Man United signed David de Gea himself from the Spanish club all those years back and could repeat the trick with Oblak too.

De Gea himself is still young in goalkeeping terms and at 31, has many years left in the top flight of football. However, if the Spaniard is to stay at Old Trafford, then the two parties will have to come to an agreement over a new contract.
Even if the Red Devils were to sign Oblak, it would not be a bad option either. The Slovenian goalie who has been with the Spanish club since 2014 is still just 29 years old and has a lot of time left in the game.
