Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez heard screaming in Manchester United dressing room during half-time at Etihad Stadium

Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez were heard screaming at half-time in the dressing room at the Etihad Stadium. The Red Devils were down four goals to Manchester City at that point.

The Portuguese and Argentine berated the United players as the Sky Blues put on a show at their home ground. And the two were so loud that City staff heard it down the corridor, according to The Sun.

Fernandes was captaining the side in the Manchester derby. The 28-year-old has been wearing the armband as Harry Maguire has been relegated to the bench.

United were on a four-game winning run before the trip to the Etihad. However, Pep Guardiola’s team offered us another reality check. Fans had been offered renewed hope since the 4-0 loss to Brentford. But the Cityzens have once again exposed our frailties.

The Old Trafford side seemed to be out of their depth. United were unable to keep hold of possession in the middle of the park. Fernandes did not have the best of games. The Portuguese cut a frustrating figure. The 28-year-old did get booked for dissent in the 80th minute.

Martinez had an evening to forget as well. City opened the scoring early on through Phil Foden. Erling Haaland then scored two quick-fire goals. The England international completed his brace as well just before half-time.

The Argentine and Raphael Varane had formed a solid partnership in recent weeks. However, the United backline had no answers for the barraging Norwegian striker.

Fernandes and Martinez’s words seemed to have worked as the Red Devils pegged a goal back through a brilliant Antony striker. But Haaland and Foden were able to compound our misery as they both got their hat tricks. Anthony Martial got two late consolations.

United cannot dwell on the result for too long. It was a bad day at the office for all of our players. However, now is the time to learn from the mistakes and try to build another winning run.
