Manchester United star Christian Eriksen scores a screamer for Denmark in defeat to Croatia
According to The Mirror, Christian Eriksen scored a screamer for Denmark against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. However, the Manchester United midfielder was at the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat.
Eriksen started in the middle of the park drifting on the left and the number 10 position. The 30-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the Red and Whites.
The first 45 ended in a stalemate. However, Zlatko Dalic’s side were able to break the deadlock early in the second half. Borna Sosa opened the scoring in the 49th minute for Croatia.

Denmark looked threatening. However, they were unable to make something of the chances they had. But in the 77th minute, from almost 25 yards out, Eriksen found the back on the net to level the game.
Unfortunately for the United midfielder, the Vatreni took the lead once again just two minutes later. Stade Rennes star Lovro Majer beat Kasper Schmeichel from the edge of the box.
Denmark now sit second in Group A1 of the Nations League behind Croatia. The Red and Whites will face France next at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
Eriksen has come a long way since collapsing on the pitch against Finland in Denmark’s first game of Euro 2020 last year. The 30-year-old missed the rest of the tournament as his teammates made it to the semi-final, only to lose to England.
The United midfielder made his debut for the Red and Whites in 2010 against Austria in a 2-1 defeat. Since then, Eriksen has been a regular for his national side.
