Jorge Mendes has offered Manchester United ace, Cristiano Ronaldo, to Napoli
The agent of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has offered the Portuguese to Serie A giants Napoli, according to Ansa Calcio Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Ronaldo is set on a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with Mendes offering the player to other clubs. Gli Azzurri are the latest team to be presented with the option of taking the Portuguese star away from Old Trafford.
Napoli are set to play Champions League football next season. The Italian side finished third in the race for the Scudetto in the previous campaign. Given that we will not be participating in the competition, a move to Napoli will permit Ronaldo to dine at Europe’s top table.
Ronaldo rejoined United last summer after a stint with Juventus in the Serie A. The Portuguese returned to the theatre of dreams, where he initially made a name for himself before leaving for Real Madrid in 2009.
Ronaldo a United legend
The 37-year-old’s first stint with the Red Devils was a successful one. Ronaldo spent six years in Manchester, cultivating a reputation of being one of the world’s best before moving to Real Madrid.
The homecoming in 2021 on a two-year deal was met with much fanfare. And the Portuguese delivered. The number seven was one of our best players last season and stood out in a side that was underwhelming overall.
Ronaldo finished the campaign as our top goalscorer. But even the Portuguese legend’s heroics couldn’t help the Red Devils secure a top-four berth. The supporting cast at United didn’t live up to the mark.
Our defenders were error-prone, midfielders ineffective and most of our forwards failed to provide any sort of impact. Ronaldo was the only proficient goalscorer in the team.

It’d be a mammoth task to replace the 37-year-old if he were to leave United this summer. We haven’t made any additions to the frontline this summer. So letting go of our talisman wouldn’t be wise.
