Manchester United have opened talks with RB Leipzig for Brian Brobbey
According to BILD, Manchester United has entered the race to recruit RB Leipzig attacker Brian Brobbey and are hoping to sabotage Ajax’s pursuit of the 20-year-old.
Last year, the Dutch player who was on loan at Ajax contributed to their Eredivisie championship. The attacker was initially acquired by RB Leipzig from Ajax in 2021, but he did not perform to his full potential with the German club.
Brobbey was re-signed on loan by former Ajax manager and current United manager Erik ten Hag, who also helped the striker rediscover some of his finest forms.
Brobbey was anticipated to make a permanent return to Ajax, but Ten Hag is keen on bringing him to Manchester United, and the two have been speaking on the phone about a prospective transfer.
The Dutch striker has 32 appearances for Ajax and 13 goals. He made some important contributions while on loan at Ajax last season, which helped the squad succeed.
It is believed that the German club is demanding €15 million from Ajax to allow Brobbey to join them permanently and Ajax is reportedly attempting to reduce this demand.
In a recent interview, Brobbey joked about the possibility of joining Ten Hag at Manchester United after scoring a late winner for Ajax against NEC Nijmegen.
If the BILD claim is accurate and Manchester United has in fact started to pay notice to the striker, it would appear that his wish might yet come true.

The Reds’ interest in striker options is hardly shocking. They lack depth in this area, and Anthony Martial would be the only other natural striker on the team given the uncertainty surrounding Ronaldo’s future at the club.
With his speed and ability to hold up the ball, Brobbey could be useful if he were to join the team as another backup player for the striker position.
