Manchester United have decided not to sell Donny van de Beek in the January transfer window
According to the Mirror, new Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has found Donny van de Beek to be valuable for the squad and has decided to block his exit in the winter transfer window.
The Dutchman’s Manchester United career has been a significant disappointment so far. While the move to the Theatre of Dreams has failed to hit the expected heights, he can not be entirely held responsible for it.
Axed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær didn’t show enough faith in the midfielder and often excluded him from the starting lineup. The Dutch ace has only played 48 games across 2 seasons in a Red Devils jersey.
Van de Beek’s lack of game time and inconsistency has created a lot of speculations over his future at Old Trafford. This season, even in the absence of Paul Pogba, the Norwegian manager decided to go with other alternatives making it considerably hard for the former Ajax player.
But after the arrival of Ralf Rangnick, Van de Beek got the chance to play full-90 minutes of United’s Champions League fixture against Young Boys. Now, it is believed that the German manager understands the value of the Netherland international and wants to keep hold of the midfielder.
Some of Manchester United’s vital midfield players certainly has some serious doubts over their stay at the club. Given the age and potential van de Beek possesses, it makes sense to give him a proper runout before arriving at a decision.
Paul Pogba is one of the big names in the United dressing room. But, his recent contract standoff with the English team has been a bummer. The French player has been linked with some elite European teams recently.
On the other hand, Jesse Lingard also has been linked with a West Ham return.

Keeping hold of Van de Beek would be the wisest decision in such a case. The Dutch player needs to have game time in order to prove his worth. The current intentions of the former Leipzig manager suggest that the former Ajax man is included in the Red Devil’s future plans.
