Donny van de Beek is having a disappointing spell at Manchester United due to lack of game time.

The former Ajax player’s lack of game time under the Norweigian manager created speculation on his United future. It is believed that FC Barcelona showed interest in signing the midfielder.

The Catalan team’s Dutch connection has been evident over the years. Over the years, Johan Cruff, Patrick Kluivert, Ronald Koeman etc., flourished at the Catalan capital. Thus, the interest seemed valid.

However, it seems the new manager Xavi has ruled out the possibility of the transfer. It is believed that the former Al-Sadd manager has put his confidence on the current midfield lineup are looking to focus on what he has.

After coming onto the pitch, he took less than 5 minutes to score the vital goal against Watford, which pushed the team back into the game.
