Fabrizio Romano: Manchester United are split over the decision to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Speaking to the United Stand YouTube channel (h/t The Express), journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Manchester United board are split over the decision to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
There has been unrest amongst the fans since the 5-0 battering to Liverpool. It is not every day that our arch-enemies come to town and rip our team apart. Manchester City repeated the same trick with an equally dominant performance in our own backyard. The only saving grace was the scoreline which stayed at 3-0.
However, this is not how things should have turned out after the massive investment in the summer. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were signed to win trophies, not compete in the Top 4 race. But that is where the club currently finds itself.
Despite this, Solskjaer will likely be in charge of the upcoming game against Watford. Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that the Norwegian has not been sacked yet because the board are split over the decision.
“The Manchester United board are not stupid, they know that the situation is really complicated. The next game against Watford is so important.”
“THE MAIN PART OF THE MAN UTD BOARD ARE STILL SUPPORTING OLE, THERE ARE ALSO SOME BOARD MEMBERS THINKING ABOUT REPLACING HIM AND GOING FOR ANOTHER MANAGER. THEY ARE ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT THIS POINT, THEY DO NOT THINK EVERYTHING IS OKAY.”
Moreover, his sacking has little to do with his replacements. Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino have been considered, but there has been nothing concrete on that front.

It is also thought that Ed Woodward does not want to make sacking Solskjaer his last decision as vice-chairman. Thus, there are several issues to consider, but if the performances do not improve, the 48-year-old will be forcing United’s hand into firing him.
