Ferran Torres of Manchester City praises Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo for his impact
Speaking to Movistar’s Universo Valdano (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester City forward Ferran Torres has revealed that Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is the one he looks up to as a reference point.
Ronaldo will be regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of football, but at the same time, he will also be well known for his incredible dedication to fitness which makes him stand among the very top athletes across multiple sports.
This has helped the Portuguese to ensure consistency and longevity throughout his career and has helped him to create a long-lasting legacy. Torres admitted that he looks up to him and uses him as a “point of reference” while saying that he has changed football.
“(He) is my point of reference. He has changed football in terms of nutrition, taking care of yourself, investing in your body.”
The 21-year-old explained that the game requires you to have dedication throughout your life. He added that football has evolved over the years by becoming more physical, and you have to be prepared or else you will face the consequences of obstacles weighing you down.
“This is a long-term process in which what you do today has repercussions for tomorrow. Football is more physical, and you have to be prepared.”
