Manchester United stars displeased with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the treatment of Donny van de Beek
According to the Daily Mail (h/t The Express), Manchester United stars are ‘frustrated’ with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the treatment of Donny van de Beek.
The 24-year-old was signed by the Red Devils for £40million in the summer of 2020. However, he is yet to be given a chance to prove his worth to the club. Despite encouraging performances off the bench, the Dutchman was only afforded four league starts last campaign.
His game-time has only shortened this season, with the player yet to start a Premier League game for the club. Solskjaer has often preferred the double pivot of Scott McTominay and Fred and has chalked and changed with Paul Pogba.
However, the United fans made it pretty clear during the game against Man City that they wanted the player to come on after they started chanting his name.
Van de Beek was given the opportunity to come into the game 10 minutes from time, but the game was done and dusted by then.
In fact, several Manchester United stars are now unhappy with Solskjaer over his treatment of the Dutch international. This frustration comes after the displeasure of the players over the game-time that was being afforded to fringe stars Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic.

Thus, there are obvious issues in the dressing room, and the discontent with the manager is clear as daylight. Despite all of this, the Norwegian shall apparently be in charge for the game against Watford post the international break.
If the players in the starting line-up are failing to make a difference, it could be time to give a chance to fringe stars like the 24-year-old. However, given the manager’s track record, it does not look like a lot will change after the break.
