Manchester United make contact with Antonio Conte over the managerial role
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have made contact with Antonio Conte over a potential job for the managerial role.
The Red Devils might be set to undergo huge changes soon as they look to scout new managers for the hot-seat at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will complete three years at United this December, but the Norwegian is yet to win a trophy with the club.
While those hopes could have been fulfilled this season after the massive investment, they are yet to see a balanced team that can successfully compete on all fronts. The club have already been knocked out of one Cup competition while their Premier League and Champions League ambitions have taken a hit in recent weeks.

Thus, a change at the top could be what the club need, and Antonio Conte is said to be one of the names on the list. In fact, it is also thought that the Manchester-based outfit have contacted the Italian boss now over a potential move.
The 52-year-old excelled in his time at Juventus as he led them to multiple Serie A titles before coming to England and winning the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea in his two-year stint at the London club.
In the last two seasons, Conte built a resilient side at Inter Milan and helped them achieve league glory last season after a decade. He left the job earlier this summer and is currently out of work.
His success in England could be a huge factor for United taking the first step to appointing him since a Premier League seasoned manager can hit the ground running, especially if he takes over the role mid-season.
