PSG could complete a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland ahead of Manchester United
According to Gazetta dello Sport, as cited by Mail Online (h/t Express), Manchester United could suffer a blow in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland due to the financial might of PSG.
The 68-goals in 67 games wonder of Borussia Dortmund has caught the eye of several clubs in world football, and lines are being queued up for the striker’s signature next summer.
Haaland’s supposed £68million release clause is set to activate after the end of the current season, but the player’s wage demands are not too far from his transfer fee.
Mino Raiola is said to be aiming to churn out £43million in wages for the Norwegian, regardless of who signs him. Manchester United have been linked with the forward and were also in talks back in 2020 to sign him from RB Salzburg. However, the German club swooped in and signed him for £17million.
Thus, if the Red Devils do wish to have the 21-year-old in their ranks, it will take a fortune to do so while they will also have to beat the competition.
PSG, who could lose Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer to Real Madrid next summer, have been tipped to acquire the services of Haaland to replace the outgoing Frenchman.

Moreover, given the finances the Qatari-owned club possess, they are also apparently the favourites to get a deal over the line before anybody else. This would come as a blow to the Old Trafford outfit, who would have been dreaming of a frontline with Ronaldo and Haaland.
Thus, while a deal is yet to be concluded, the 13-time Premier League champions will have to offer a mouth-watering salary to the Norwegian if they are to beat the French giants to his signature.
