Bruno Fernandes calls for Manchester United to improve if they want trophies this season
Speaking in an interview on the BBC (h/t Independent.ie) after a disappointing draw vs Everton, Bruno Fernandes called for Manchester United to improve if they want to end this season with silverware.
It has been a rancid run of games for United with regards to results and clean sheets. The club has won just 2 out of their last 6 games in all competitions, and haven’t kept a clean sheet after their 1-0 win over Wolves back in August.
The game against Everton showed similar patterns to most of Man United’s matches recently. The Red Devils kept much of the ball and dominated proceedings, only for them to concede on the break.
Failure to convert chances and lack of creativity in the final third of the pitch meant Andros Townsend’s equalizer in the 65th minute of the game was the last goal of the match, as United go into the international break with a sour taste in their mouth.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s star midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, stated that this is a kind of game that the club should have won.
“We should win this game. We should create more chances. We should not concede that kind of goal. It’s not the first time and we have to look at our mistakes and see what we can do.”
United lost their league game against Aston Villa at Old Trafford last weekend, and the Portuguese international believes that the club must improve their performances if they want to end this season with a trophy.
“We drop points at home and we should not do that. These last two games at home was not good enough in the Premier League. If we want silverware at the end of the season we have to do much better.”

United are yet to win the league since Sir Alex Ferguson called it quits in 2013, and their last trophy came under Jose Mourinho in 2017. Surely a season without a trophy now would be nothing short of catastrophic for Solskjaer, especially after all the backing he has had in the summer window this year.
