Manchester United star Edinson Cavani ruled out of action for a week
According to the Telegraph’s James Ducker (h/t Old Trafford Faithful), Manchester United star Edinson Cavani will be out of action for at least a week after picking up an injury due to a knock in training.
The Uruguayan, who returned late to the club’s training camp this summer after international duty, is yet to start a game for the Red Devils this season. The 34-year-old did manage to make a substitute appearance against Wolverhampton Wanderers a couple of weeks ago but failed to garner any impact in the game.
The striker was also disallowed by the Old Trafford outfit to travel for international duty during the break after the Wolves game. This is because he would be going to a red list country, and players who return from those countries face the prospect of isolating for at least 10 days in UK Government approved hotels.
That would have entailed that the 34-year-old would miss two Premier League games and a Champions League clash against B.S.C Young Boys.
However, the Uruguayan, who missed the Newcastle game on the weekend, will now also miss the aforementioned Champions League clash and the game against West Ham United on Sunday due to suffering a knock in training, according to Telegraph’s James Ducker (h/t Old Trafford Faithful)
This might not be a huge problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, thanks to the depth in his incredible frontline. The likes of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo are fit, while the latter also scored a brace on his ‘second debut’ against Newcastle United.

Moreover, the Manchester-based club have also included Anthony Elanga in their trip to Switzerland. Thus, it looks like the Red Devils are stacked for options in the frontline, but Solskjaer would be hoping to have Cavani back after the end of the coming weekend.
