Transfer News: Leicester City register interest in Manchester United star Jesse Lingard
According to transfer news from Fichajes, (h/t Team Talk), Leicester City are interested in Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
Lingard has reinvented his career ever since his loan move to West Ham United in the second half of the last season, where he made an immediate impact after arrival. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose to hand the 28-year-old another shot at Old Trafford this term.
Lingard got himself on the scoresheet for England in the latest International break. He scored two goals against Andorra to make his impact felt. He came on as a late substitute against Newcastle United on Saturday to get his first Manchester United goal in 13 months.
Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers is said to be keenly interested in Lingard. He could provide great attacking intent and has proven his worth with recent performances for club and country. They are looking to bring the Manchester United midfielder to King Power stadium amidst the uncertainty surrounding James Maddison.
The fact that Lingard is in the final year of his contract with Manchester United makes him an even more attractive proposition.
West Ham are also firm admirers of the midfielder. He scored 9 goals in 16 Premier League games for the Hammers. Lingard was an integral part of David Moyes’ team that made it to the Europa League this season.
