Transfer News: Manchester United suffer transfer blow as Borussia Dortmund reveal stance over Jude Bellingham

According to 90min.com, Manchester United have suffered a potential blow in their chase for Jude Bellingham next summer as Borussia Dortmund have no plans of selling the player.

The 18-year-old, who joined the German outfit a year ago, has been in incredible form for the Bundesliga club.

The Englishman made a massive 46 appearances across all competitions last year, including featuring in all of the club’s Champions League games. Bellingham also scored against Manchester City in the 2nd leg of the quarter-final, although Dortmund did end up losing the game and the tie.

Irrespective, the youngster has garnered a lot of interest from clubs around Europe with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United in ‘regular contact’ with the 18-year-old.

United, who currently possess the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Nemanja Matic, Fred, and Scott McTominay in their ranks, could add another midfielder to this star-studded squad.

Pogba is in the final year of his contract and could leave on a free transfer next summer. Van de Beek has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, while Matic’s contract will expire in 2023. Thus, in such a situation, United would be completing a clever coup by signing a midfielder as talented and young as Bellingham.

However, those plans have now been crashed as Dortmund do not plan on selling the midfielder next year as they have already agreed an improved contract with the Englishman.

The youngster has already committed his future to the German club until 2025 and doubled his wages up to £100,000-per-week, which was activated on his 18th birthday in late June as per a mutually agreed clause in his deal. Thus, this would be a blow for United, who could have strengthened their midfield by adding the 18-year-old talent.
