Manchester United might be stuck with Erik ten Hag for the time being

There has been a lot of talk regarding the future of Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has been having a rough go of it at the helm. As things stand, the Red Devils could end up replacing him at the end of the season.

However, journo and former Red Devil Gary Pallister, has reminded his old club that they might not be able to do better than Erik ten Hag if he is sacked this summer. Let’s have a look at what he had to say. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

“I don’t know where you’d go with the manager if you sacked Ten Hag, who are we looking at next? We keep changing managers every couple of years and that’s not good.”

Pallister added that Sir Alex Ferguson got four years at the helm before he finally won a trophy. However, managers don’t get that kind of time anymore which could be the reason behind their struggles.

There have been a lot of names going around like Thomas Tuchel and Zinedine Zidane who are being touted as possible replacements. However, if they don’t succeed either then the Red Devils will be caught in the cycle of sacking and rehiring again.

For the time being the best course of action for the club would be to give more time to the Dutchman. Ten Hag has had an ungodly amount of injuries to deal with this season. Maybe some improvements to the squad can help him get better results.

The first step begins with making some quality signings this summer. If Ten Hag fails again then at least Man United will have some quality players to fall back on.
