Jude Bellingham is being eyed by Manchester United despite Liverpool interest
According to the Daily Star (h/t Express), Manchester United remain keen on a deal for Jude Bellingham in the future despite interest from Liverpool.
The Red Devils, who currently possess the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, and Fred in their ranks, could be looking to add another midfielder to the fold in the future.
Pogba, who is now in the final year of his contract, could leave the Old Trafford outfit on a free transfer next season. Moreover, PSG & Real Madrid are also circling around for the 28-year-old’s signature next year. Thus, in a situation where the Frenchman does end up leaving the club, Bellingham has been eyed as a ‘potential replacement’ for the United midfielder.
Additionally, given the fact that Matic’s contract is set to expire in 2 years, signing the 18-year-old talent will be a clever move by the Red Devils. The Englishman has been terrific for Dortmund ever since he arrived at the club in the summer of 2020.
Last season, the youngster managed 46 appearances in all competitions as he scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists from midfield.
The 18-year-old also played a crucial role in Dortmund finishing 3rd in the Bundesliga, while he was also pivotal in the German club reaching the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, where they were beaten by eventual finalists Manchester City.

Bellingham’s performances also warranted a place for him in the England squad for the Euros this summer. Thus, United would be gaining a real talent if they do manage to sign him. However, they will face competition from arch-rivals Liverpool, who are also open to orchestrating a move for the 18-year-old, according to the Daily Star (h/t The Express).
Thus, it remains to be seen where Bellingham’s preferred destination lies at the start of next season.
