Robert Lewandowski has been offered to Manchester United as a potential move
According to an interview done by journalist Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t The Faithful MUFC), Manchester United could sign Robert Lewandowski this summer.
The Red Devils, who have completed the signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane for a combined fee of more than £100million, could be interested in strengthening their frontline. The club’s current centre-forward in Edinson Cavani is in the final year of his contract, and the Old Trafford outfit could be eager to sign his replacement.
Lewandowski, who is keen on leaving Bayern Munich this summer, wants a new challenge, according to Sky Sports (h/t The Faithful MUFC).
However, if the forward is to leave the German outfit, it would take nearly £100million to sign him, which United are not all too keen on paying. Journalist Ian McGarry shed a little more light on the situation while talking to the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t The Faithful MUFC). He said:
“Lewandowski has been offered to Liverpool, to Manchester United, and to Manchester City, each of whom have expressed a tepid amount of interest in the player regarding the possibility of signing him. However, each of them has also said that the €110 million (£94m) which Bayern are leaking to the German media that they would require to allow Lewandowski to leave is far too much for a player of that age.”
Thus, while the striker has been offered to the Red Devils, they are not too keen on paying Bayern Munich’s humongous asking price, especially for a player who recently turned 33.

While that is the case, it does not look like the Pole is slowing down after he scored 41 goals in the Bundesliga last season, breaking Gerd Muller’s record of most goals in a league season in the process.
Thus, while the Red Devils may not be interested in signing the player, it would be a clever move if they could negotiate a deal for the Pole as it would only boost their chances of competing for the biggest titles this season.
