Manchester United might not make an immediate move for Pape Matar Sarr
According to an interview done by Fabrizio Romano with The United Stand (h/t Express), Manchester United are in no hurry to complete a deal for Pape Matar Sarr.
Earlier this week, Metz’s president flew down to Stanstead airport to discuss a possible move for the 18-year-old with three Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol (h/t Express).
While there is no certainty on who these Premier League clubs were, United have been linked with the player this summer, but it seems like they have only been ‘scouting’ the Senegalese.
Romano told The United Stand (h/t Express):
“I am told when I’m asking about this kind of player that Manchester United are scouting him. I don’t see it as imminent but it could be an opportunity for the future.
“It’s one of the most interesting players they have in France now in this position. It’s one of other clubs are keen on as well, but it’s not one where anything is going to happen in the next few hours.”
The 18-year-old, like Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr, is an incredible talent and is a product of the Generation Foot Academy, which has been responsible for producing incredible Senegalese talent over the years.
Sarr signed a five-year contract with Metz last September, but it seems like the wonderkid could already on the move, with interest from Manchester United, City and Chelsea. However, it is also understood that all three clubs, including Manchester United, are ready to buy the player and loan him back to Metz so as to lure the club into an offer this summer. (h/t Mail)
The teenager racked up 22 appearances in the Ligue 1 last season while he also made his debut for the national team in March this year, indicating that he is already punching above his levels.
