Transfer News: Manchester United may be done with their summer transfer business

According to transfer news from Daily Mail (h/t Express), Manchester United may have completed their summer transfer business as they scrap plans for four signings.

The Red Devils have completed the £73million signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, the £42million signing of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, and the signing of goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a free transfer from Aston Villa.

However, that seems to be it for United, who are comfortable not making any more additions. Kieran Trippier, who was targeted by the club throughout the summer, is no more on the radar of United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed with Diogo Dalot in pre-season and might keep the Portuguese to provide competition to Aaron Wan-Bissaka over the course of the season.

Trippier’s Atletico Madrid teammate in Saul Niguez was also on the radar of the Red Devils this summer, but the club are not keen on bringing the Spaniard to England anymore.

Additionally, the club have also lost interest in Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, while United’s main midfield target in Eduardo Camavinga might also not materialize this summer even though Rennes are ready to offload the latter.

This could be a blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had his sights set on midfield reinforcements and with an ‘upgrade‘ over Fred being eyed. However, it seems like Manchester United are set to shut up shop for the summer, as per the report.

Abandoning the pursuit of Saul, Neves and Camavinga could hurt the Red Devils in their bid to challenge for the title. While the club do have a lot of midfielders in their ranks, only time will tell how United fare this season.
