Transfer News: Marcos Llorente coy amid Manchester United links

According to transfer news from Daily Mail, Marcos Llorente has chosen to remain coy on his transfer links to Manchester United. The Spanish midfielder has kept the door open to a potential move to the Premier League. Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in him.

There were a lot of architects for Atletico Madrid’s historic La Liga triumph last season. Among them, it was Marcos Llorente who played a crucial part in breaking the duopoly of Real Madrid and Barcelona. He was rewarded for his efforts with a spot in the Spanish side for the Euros.

Llorente has been in stellar form for Atleti.

The midfielder has been used to good effect by his managers with the player being used in almost every possible position. Diego Simeone experimented by throwing him up as a striker and then as a wide midfielder. Spain boss Luis Enrique sprung a surprise by playing him as a right-back in the Euros.

Llorente has kept his future open

That has led to links from Manchester United and Liverpool who want to sign the versatile player. Llorente, who is currently on international duty, chose to remain tight-lipped but kept the door open for a move.

“I have many years left (on my contract). My idea is to stay, I’m fine, I’m happy at Atletico Madrid. We have had a great season winning La Liga. Anything can happen in football, but I don’t think about that kind of thing. I am happy and now I am with the national team. There were conversations a long time ago, it is true, but nothing happened and the negotiation was not completed. I have no problem.”
