Manchester United in talks for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Winks
According to Stretty News (h/t The Express), Manchester United are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a move for midfielder Harry Winks.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to boost his squad after a season that saw the Red Devils come second in two different competitions. Despite much progress, it would appear that we still have ways to go before bringing home silverware.
The Norwegian is keen to bring in three players this summer, with a centre-back seen as a top priority. Solskjaer is also keen to reinforce his midfield and has earmarked Harry Winks as a potential addition.
The Englishman has endured a difficult season at Spurs, having fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho. The signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg last summer did him no favours, relegating him further down the pecking order.
Winks started just nine games last season, two of which came under Ryan Mason, who replaced Mourinho towards the end of the season. Despite the managerial seat remaining empty, Tottenham are ready to listen to offers for the 25-year-old.
According to the report, an offer of £25million could be enough to tempt Spurs into selling the England international.
United also remain interested in Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish. The Englishman will however not come cheap. United will have to sell in order to raise the necessary funds to land Grealish.
Signing Winks will give Solskjaer a good option in midfield.

If United are to sign a ‘Harry’ from Tottenham, United fans would largely want it to be Kane rather than Winks. The midfielder, unlike his namesake, is not one who gets the pulses going. However, he in his own right a rather tidy player.
The 25-year-old showed excellent promise under Mauricio Pochettino and it remains to be seen if Solskjaer can rekindle the same flame in him.
