Manchester United target Nikola Milenkovic could be on his way out of Fiorentina this summer
According to Corriere Dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United could land Fiorentina ace Nikola Milenkovic for around €30-35m this summer.
The Serbian defender is amongst the best young defenders in the Italian top flight. He was one of the rare bright spots in what has been a poor season for La Viola.
With his deal at Fiorentina up in 2022, he could be on the move when the window opens. A sale this summer will ensure the Italians will get a decent amount in transfer fee.
Fiorentina is keen to keep hold of Milenkovic. However, their overtures regarding a new contract have led nowhere. As things stand, there are no offers on the table from other teams.
However, that could change in the weeks to come. The likes of United are in the market for a centre-back and could turn their attentions to Fiorentina to get their man.
Gennaro Gattuso who left Napoli earlier this month has already been announced as the next Fiorentina boss. Despite the change in management, it would appear Milenkovic will be sold.
The same cannot be said of another Fiorentina player on United’s radar. Dusan Vlahovic looks set to stay on for another season despite grabbing attention from elsewhere.
At 21, Vlahovic is far from the finished article. He exploded into form this season and led a struggling Fiorentina side to 13th in Serie A. He scored 21 out of La Viola’s 47 goals in the league this season. It is sobering to think about where they would have been without him.

Milenkovic looks up to Nemanja Vidic and has admitted that he tries to model his game on the United great. The 23-year-old is far from the finished article and is still developing as a player. Whether he will continue his progress at Old Trafford remains to be seen.
