Arsenal drop out of race for Manchester United transfer target Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Express), Arsenal will not compete with Manchester United for the signing of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The 21-year-old Serbian has caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs with a series of excellent performances for the Italian giants. He joined La Viola from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and has since made 84 appearances, scoring 29 goals and four assists.
Fiorentina have endured a difficult season and could end the season as low as 15th depending on other results. The lone bright spot this season has been Vlahovic who has scored 21 goals and made two assists in 40 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With Arsenal out, United will need to battle it out with Liverpool for Vlahovic. The player. for his part, is keen on a move and is ready to join a new club this summer. (h/t Express)
United secured the future of Edinson Cavani for another season earlier this month. Despite that, they could do with another forward going into the new season.
According to a report by the Express, United have made a striker their top priority this summer. While the likes of Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho continue to do the rounds, Vlahnovic could prove to be a cheaper alternative.

At 21, Vlahovic is far from the finished article. So far, he has shown excellent potential and will need to keep improving to attain his full ability.
United will do well to keep tabs on him for another season before making a move. The last thing we need is to go all out to land what could be a one-season wonder.
