Chelsea enter the fray for Kingsley Coman amidst interest from Manchester United
According to Fussball Transfers (h/t The Express), Manchester United could face competition from Chelsea in their pursuit of French winger Kingsley Coman.
The Blues share close ties with superagent Pini Zahavi, who represents the Bayern Munich star. They hope to make use of this advantage to sign the player in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Having put his injury problems behind him, Coman has emerged as an overwhelming force for the Bavarians down the wing. He made 39 appearances this season, scoring 7 goals and making 15 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
According to the report, Coman has two years left on his current deal. While Bayern is keen to extend his stay, Coman has been left unimpressed by the offer on the table.
Chelsea are ready to meet his demands and tempt him to move to Stamford Bridge. Thankfully, United are also no slouches and have expressed their willingness to meet the player’s demands as well.
Bayern however are relaxed about the unfolding situation. They believe the player has enough time on his contract for them to table an acceptable offer.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in a winger this summer, his focus is on Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho. According to The Telegraph (Subscription Required), he remains the club’s top priority.
Valued at around £75m, Sancho will not come cheap. Unless a move for him breaks down, it remains unlikely that we will move for Coman this summer.

Coman is a player Thomas Tuchel will be familiar with given his heroics against Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s UEFA Champions League final.
Having won it all at Bayern, it remains to be seen if Coman will seek a new challenge with United. The 24-year-old has been added to France’s Euro 2021 squad and could further enhance his reputation with a solid showing.
