It was a night to remember for Anthony Elanga as Manchester United ended the season having joined an elite list of clubs.

The Red Devils once again prevailed away from home and have ended the season without a single defeat on the road in the Premier League. Preston North End was the first team to achieve that record, all the way back in 1888/89 when they went unbeaten.

Arsenal’s double winners later equalled the feat in 2001/02 before repeating it as part of the Invincibles in 2003/04. Unfortunately, United also achieve the unwanted distinction of being the only club amongst these to not win the league.

Elanga and Mata scored on the night

Youngster Anthony Elanga, making his second start for the first-team, was the star on the night as he put up a promising performance. The 19-year-old opened the scoring on the night with a thumping header early in the first half.

He could admittedly have had more but missed a few golden chances to run up the scoreline. Nelson Semedo equalized for the home side before Juan Mata scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1. It remains to be seen if it was the veteran’s last game for the club.

It was a good performance from a young United side missing most of their first-team stars. Hannibal Mejbri also came on to make his senior debut in the second half.

Next up is the Europa League final. Hopefully Ole Gunnar Solskajer and his men will end the season with Silverware.

We now take a look at how fans reacted to the win at the Molineux.
