Harry Kane boost for Manchester United as Tottenham target Danny Ings
According to Mirror, Manchester United will face competition from Tottenham for Danny Ings, which should come as a boost for United, who have been heavily linked with Harry Kane.
Spurs have made their interest known in the striker as they try to make contingency plans for the possible departure of Harry Kane.
United have already made an enquiry for the 28-year-old. With time running out on his contract, the Red Devils are hoping to pile pressure on Southampton this summer.
Ings has just a year to go on his current deal at St Mary’s. Although negotiations regarding a new contract have taken place, there has been no progress in the matter.
A former Liverpool striker, Ings’ time at Anfield was marred by injuries. Since moving to Southampton, he has scored an impressive 46 goals and 10 assists in 99 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)
However, the above-mentioned report suggests that United are not the only side after Ings. Spurs have entered the fray for him as Harry Kane has asked for an exit from the club.

It still remains to be seen how serious United are about signing Ings. They will be wary of his last big stint at Liverpool and the accompanying injury issues. Ings may be worth a punt given his Southampton form but United would be better served to go after someone like Harry Kane.
Given Tottenham are targeting Danny Ings as a measure for life after Harry Kane, we would do quite well to make sure their plan comes to fruition.
