Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plays coy as Glazers pen letter to fans

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened up on how the Glazers will react to the Friday ultimatum handed to them by fans.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust wrote a letter to Joel Glazer representing their four-point plan for change at Old Trafford. They expect the United honcho to respond by today and he has surprisingly acquiesced.

In contrast, Avram Glazer refused to even make a comment when confronted by a reporter earlier this week.

Will the Glazers tender a response?

Solskjaer, meanwhile, refused to give a decisive answer on where the owners stand regarding fans’ concerns. However, he did admit that negotiations between the trust and the Americans are ongoing.

‘The communication between the club and the fans is ongoing and, hopefully, we can get an end to all the speculation.”

The Norwegian went on to add that his focus remains on the upcoming matches. With three games to come in five days, the manager has enough on his plate without having to worry about off-field issues.

An inconvenient truth?

Solskjaer’s insistence that the focus remains on the field is a convenient dodge. Especially so when one considers that he went on to reveal that the Glazers had apologized to him in private regarding the European Super League.

A notoriously quiet bunch, the Glazers are not known for their openness. The fact that they were willing to apologize to Solskjaer but not the fans is a little disconcerting.

MUST had warned the Glazers that demonstrations against them would continue if no answer was forthcoming by today. With home games against Leicester City and Liverpool to come, it remains to be seen what they do now.

Joel Glazer has since penned a letter to help usher in a new era of communication between them and the fanbase. He has vowed to meet with the forum personally at the end of the season. It is a welcome first step but a lot still remains to be done.
