Protestors attack the house of Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward

According to Sky Sports, protestors attacked the house of Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward last week.

A number of demonstrators targeted Woodward’s house in Cheshire last Thursday. They were expressing their anger at the club’s involvement in the failed European Super League.

Thankfully, no one was at the time of the incident and the protestors left after damaging the gates at the front of the drive.

The incident occurred on the same day when a separate group of fans broke into United’s training ground to protest against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club.

The club has since increased security around Carrington and their executives based in London. The security company, Controlled Solutions Group, now has thrice the personnel on duty and are also carrying out more stringent checks on staff and visitors around the facility.

This is not the first time that protestors have attacked the United chairman’s house. The previous incident occurred in 2020, once again when neither Woodward nor his family was at home.

Dominoes keep falling

United pulled out of the European Super League following widespread opposition to their participation. Woodward too followed suit and tendered his resignation and will leave the club at the end of the year.

Fans appear to be in no hurry to let United executives or owners go scot-free. Thousands of Red Devils fans gathered together to protest outside Old Trafford on Saturday.

This was followed by an anti-Glazer banner being flown over Elland Road during our match against Leeds United on Sunday.

With protests being planned ahead of our game against Liverpool, the mood does not appear to be pacifying anytime soon. The club has also called for an emergency fans forum this Friday.
