Carlos Goncalves makes Diogo Dalot promise irrespective of what Manchester United have planned for him
Speaking to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News), Carlos Goncalves the agent of Diogo Dalot has gone on record to make a statement about the Manchester United star’s future.
The 22-year-old joined AC Milan on loan last summer. His time at the San Siro can be termed as mixed, given the highs and lows. Dalot has, however, managed to garner more game time in Italy than at United.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently admitted that the player would be given an opportunity to rekindle his career at Old Trafford. This has done little to temper the speculation regarding his future.
Goncalves, meanwhile, has promised that his client would play for a great European club regardless of what United’s plans are. Interestingly, he goes on to term this as a ‘guarantee’.
“But whatever the future, whatever decision is made, it’s guaranteed that Diogo will continue to play in a great European club.”
However, he refused to give away anything more. He did not dismiss the opportunity to extend the player’s stay at Milan and said that a decision will be taken in due course.
Pressing concerns!
Milan are currently third in Serie A and face a battle to maintain their spot in the top four. Dalot’s immediate concern is to help the Rossoneri claim a champions league berth for next season.
“All decisions regarding his future will be made in due course. There is still a lot to be decided in the Italian league and Diogo is only focused on Milan’s immediate goals, which are to finish the 2020/2021 season in the best possible way, earning a spot in the Champions League”
The player’s contract with United runs until 2023. One way or another, it would appear that his future at Old Trafford could be decided this summer.
