Marcelo Bielsa urges Manchester United and Leeds United fans for calm ahead of Premier League clash

According to The Mirror, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has urged Manchester United fans for calm ahead of the crunch clash at Elland Road.

Tensions are high following the protests against the aborted European Super League. There are fears that given the rivalry between Leeds and United, matters could escalate in their first clash at Elland Road in a decade.

While Bielsa is sympathetic to the emotions riding in such clashes, he has urged the fans not to cross the limits expected of them.

The Argentine believes the off-field topics have been given their due attention and matters should not spill onto the field. Both teams are the best of rivals and their encounters are heated at times.

“In football in a classic game like this, there is a grade of excitement that is absolutely enough and the most clear demand from this episode is put the focus on the football.”

Leeds will be out for revenge following the 6-2 mauling they received at Old Trafford earlier this season. One of our finest performances this season, a repeat would be more than welcome this weekend.

Leeds took on Liverpool last Monday in the first Premier League clash since the announcement of the Super League. The game was preceded by protests from both sets of fans against the breakaway league.

Leeds players also made their point by wearing suggestive tops as they went about their pre-match warmups.
