Arsenal enter the race for Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard
According to the Daily Star, fellow Premier League giants, Arsenal have entered the race for Manchester United star Jesse Lingard.
The Gunners are currently in limbo as they struggle to make an impact this season. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have both scored but have lacked the killer instinct expected of a top-level attacker.
Lingard on the other hand has been tearing it up at West Ham United. The 28-year-old has so far managed eight goals and four assists in just nine games and is spearheading the Hammers’ bid for a top-four finish.
Arsenal’s creative output as a whole has been impacted by the inability of some players to step up. The Gunners have failed to replace Mesut Ozil as both Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard have only shown glimpses of their talent.
Lingard’s performances coupled with his experience in the Premieir League make him an excellent choice. They will, however, have to contend with competition from both Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.
That is not to mention West Ham who are themselves keen to keep the player on at the London Stadium. The Hammers are keen to do whatever it takes but it remains to be seen if they can compete against the three other bigwigs.
Lingard’s contract at United runs until the end of next summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not averse to selling the player while his stock is at a high.
The Norwegian has been unable to get the best out of the player at United. Lingard has, however, vindicated himself at West Ham and has even seen himself return to the England fold.

Lingard had made it a habit of scoring at the Emirates in recent seasons. If all goes well, Arsenal fans will be hoping he can keep that streak going.
Unthinkable just three months ago, Lingard might well turn out to be the creative tour de force the Gunners have been crying out for.
