Transfer News: Liverpool could rival Man United in Jadon Sancho pursuit
In the latest news from The Telegraph (subscription required), Liverpool could be set to rival Manchester United for the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho, 20, has been on the radars of Manchester United for a long time now. Since leaving Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the Englishman has rapidly grown into one of the most talented young attackers in Europe.
The Red Devils tried their hardest to land the England international last summer but the efforts proved futile as Dortmund demanded an astronomical £108m transfer fee for the winger.
Despite having failed to sign him last year, interest in Sancho still remains from Manchester United’s end. And an attempt could once again be made to land him this summer but only at a lower price than what Dortmund were demanding last time out.
However, Manchester United could face obstacles in their path to secure the transfer of Sancho, as arch-rivals Liverpool could rival them for his signing.
Manchester United did sign two young and promising right-wingers in Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri last year. But both are viewed as options for the future.

And given the lack of impact of Daniel James, a top-quality right-sided attacker could go a long way in helping the team take the next step under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Someone like Sancho would, thus, be the ideal option for Manchester United.
Any move, however, would largely depend on the transfer fee that Dortmund seek for him while the added competition from Liverpool could make things tricky as well.
