The Argentine defender was in the final 6 months of his United contract. He signed for the club in 2014 after impressing in the World Cup with Argentina, where they made the final.
Departing the club after a 6-and-a-half-year stay, the 30-year-old took to his Instagram account to send a farewell message to the fans and the club.
He started off by expressing his gratitude for the club and how he was honoured to be a part of an establishment such as United. He followed it up by thanking the fans who always supported him in the United jersey.
Finally, he ended his message by saying that the move to his native country is a new chapter in his career, but he will always have the Red Devils in his heart.

He posted a picture of himself in a United jersey, a video of his highlights at the club, and a photo to commemorate the 4 titles he won at Old Trafford.
Rojo made 122 appearances for the club during his time in Manchester. He joined the club under Louis van Gaal and featured quite often in his first season at the club.
