Manchester United prepared to go big to land Sergio Ramos this summer
Manchester United look intent on landing Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos in the summer.
The 34-year-old is out of contract and can be signed on a free at the end of the season. As a foreign club, United could also reach a pre-contract agreement with the imperious Spaniard.
The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool were both linked to the player. However, it does not appear as if either club will have an easy job landing him. Ramos is keen to secure more than £200,000-a-week in wages. (h/t Mirror)
He might get just that at United. According to Spanish outlet Todafichajes, the Red Devils are prepared to offer Ramos a blank cheque in order to get him to commit to Old Trafford.
This is in contrast to what has been asked of the player at Real. Los Blancos are keen for Ramos to take a pay cut owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Both PSG and Juventus have also been linked to the Spanish superstar. While Ramos is not keen to move to the French capital, Juventus could struggle to match United’s financial commitment.
Despite his age, Ramos remains a top defender and still has a few years left in his locker. Moreover, he is a leader who is also accustomed to being a part of winning teams.
