Manchester United submit bid for Thiago Almada as Leeds enter the race
A report by Todofichajes (h/t Leeds Live) states that Manchester United have submitted a bid for Thiago Almada with a summer transfer in mind.
The talented Argentina U-20 international earlier attracted the interest of clubs in England as well as Spain. Arsenal, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona were all linked with a move.
However, United have taken a big step forward in order to seal a potential summer transfer. Almada could move to Europe at the end of the 2020/21 season after impressing in Argentina with Velez Sarsfield. (h/t LeedsLive)
And United have submitted a £14.1million bid for the 19-year-old winger. The report also states that the Red Devils have come to a verbal agreement for a summer transfer.
It seems as if United have developed a thing for signing young wingers from abroad in recent years.
A good option for the future?
Amad Diallo joined the club this January after a much-awaited move from Serie A side Atalanta.
Almada has racked up impressive numbers over in Argentina and it is not a surprise that he was linked with a host of clubs.
A Velez Sarzfield youth product, he has made 59 senior appearances for the senior side since the summer of 2018. In that time, he has 15 goals and 4 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not have any shortage of left-wingers currently. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are all capable of playing down the left-hand side.

Nevertheless, the Argentinean winger would be a good long-term option at the club. However, increased competition for that spot could see reduced game time for Pellistri or Diallo.
