Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri on the verge of La Liga loan move in January
Speaking on Fichajes.com (h/t Daily Mail), Edgardo Da Silva, the agent of Manchester United forward Facundo Pellistri, confirmed that the youngster is close to joining a La Liga side on loan in January.
Pellistri joined the Red Devils in the summer on loan from Uruguayan giants Penarol. He is yet to make a debut for the senior team but is a regular feature in the United U-23 side.
The 19-year-old has impressed during his time in Premier League 2 and even spoke about his desire to make his senior debut in the coming year.
And now, his agent has confirmed that the winger is in talks to make a La Liga move happen this month, before the February 1 transfer deadline.
“We are working on that [a transfer]; surely Spain is the destination.”
Pellistri has been on the verge of making his first-team debut for quite some time now. He was named on the bench for two of United’s six UEFA Champions League group stage games but did not end up featuring.
One for the future
Later on, he was promoted to training with the first-team training at the end of 2020. It would seem as if Pellistri now wants some regular first-team football, with a La Liga move being proposed.
Pellistri contracted coronavirus earlier this season but duly recovered. He has made 8 appearances for the development team this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.
He was recommended to the club by former Uruguayan national team and United striker Diego Forlan. And Solskjaer stated that he had a long-term plan for him.

And in light of this, any loan move which sees him play first-team football would be beneficial for his development.
