Ole Gunnar Solskjaer impressed by players’ ‘stronger mentality’

Speaking ahead of the Premier League game against Aston Villa (h/t Daily Mail), manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed his players’ mentality as the reason behind the recent run of results for Manchester United.

Following our 1-0 win over Wolves earlier this week, Manchester United are now on a nine-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

This run of results has seen Solskjaer’s side move to second place in the table. We are just three points behind leaders Liverpool, with a game in hand. And Solskjaer has credited his players’ strong mentality for the performances and the results of late.

“Definitely the mentality is stronger”.

The manager went on to stress that the increased competition for places within the squad had meant that each player had to earn his place in the side.

“I think we have competition for places which means you can not go around thinking that you can just fake your way being part of this team because you only deserve to be in a team you contribute to.”

Solskjaer also added that there is a feeling of privilege among the players to be representing a club of Manchester United’s stature.
