Gary Neville believes Paul Pogba can lead Manchester United to the title
Speaking on Amazon Prime Video (h/t Metro), Manchester United legend Gary Neville stated that Paul Pogba is ‘world-class’ and can lead the club to the title.
Things took a controversial turn when Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, revealed that the Frenchman is ‘unhappy’ and wants to leave. This news came on the eve of our most important Champions League fixture of the season.
United went on to lost 3-2 to RB Leipzig and were eliminated from the UCL. However, Paul Pogba was immense off the bench and almost turned the game around after being subbed on.
And former United defender Neville believes that the 27-year-old has played his best football ever since.
“Since then [Leipzig loss] I have seen the best of Paul Pogba.”
The Englishman says that he prefers watching the club when the Frenchman is playing as he offers them something extra. Calling him world-class, Neville believes Pogba can bring home the title for United.
“He gives them something that might take them on the way to the title. He is a world-class player.”
Bringing the winning mentality
The former England international says the impact Pogba has at the club goes beyond goals and assists. He appreciates the World Cup winner’s ‘winning mentality’ and how he leads the team. (h/t Metro)
Neville’s comments on Pogba are not wrong. He has been instrumental for the team, especially during the busy schedule in December.
He is undoubtedly Solskjaer’s go-to man in midfield despite the transfer saga that happened earlier in December. Pogba has featured in 13 league games and 5 European games.
Despite having just 2 goals and 2 assists in his 19 matches, the Frenchman has been an important player. He has driven the team forward at times when they need a goal and his work rate off the ball looks good too.
