Bayern Munich will not sell Kingsley Coman despite Manchester United interest
According to German publication Kicker (h/t The Sun), Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Manchester United target Kingsley Coman is not for sale.
The French winger was on United’s radar, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to add natural width to his team.
“Kingsley is not for sale.”
The Red Devils were keen on signing Jadon Sancho in the summer. However, the deal went nowhere and the issue of strengthening our flanks went unaddressed.
As things stand, Daniel James is the lone specialist winger in the United squad. While we do have Facundo Pellistri and the incoming Amad Diallo, both are young and are ones to watch for in the future.
Coman on the other hand scored the decisive goal for Bayern in the Champions League final last season. He has built upon that with a solid showing so far this season.
With 13 goal contributions in 13 games, the 24-year-old has been pivotal to Bayern’s good start this campaign. He is the club’s highest assist-maker and has also been outscored only by Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With Coman now a key player for the German giants, Rummenigge is in no mood to let him leave.
“Kingsley is an absolute top player today, and is extremely valuable for Bayern.”
The Frenchman has always been a prodigious talent. However, injuries have affected his game time, limiting his influence. Now that he has regained his fitness, he is showing everyone what he can really do.

Adding width would add another dimension to a United attack that is at times far too predictable. With James not proving to be a spark of inspiration, it is imperative that we adress this weakness as soon as possible.
If not Coman, who we decide to go for remains to be seen.
