Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Manchester United will benefit when fans return to Old Trafford
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the club will benefit from fans returning to Old Trafford.
Supporters have been absent from the Theatre of Dreams from March. Given our start to the season, it can be argued that we have missed our 12th man in the stands.
“The quicker we get fans back in, the better the football will be.”
United have won just one of the six home games in the Premier League this season.
The supporters’ absence was keenly felt in this weekend’s derby against Manchester City. The match lacked the usual tension and electricity and was, in the end, a drab affair.
United were placed in tier 3 by the government last month, ensuring no supporters would be permitted, even in a limited capacity.
With the review of the Government’s tier restrictions due to take place before the visit of Leeds United next weekend, we will have hopefully played our last game behind closed doors.
Solskajer believes the club is ready to welcome fans even beyond the government’s permitted capacity.
“There must be a way we can get more and more fans in quickly. I know our club, we have looked at it many, many times and we’re ready to give a lot more people than the 2,000 or 4,000.”
United have also struggled to score at Old Trafford this season. Solskjaer for his part believes it is a consequence of playing some of the best teams in the league.

Football is just not the same without fans. United’s home form this season has been nothing short of atrocious.
Hopefully, fans will be permitted back in and it will give the players and management the boost to up their game in the coming matches.
