Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot aims to convince AC Milan to sign him permanently
According to Italian publication Calciomercato (h/t Mirror), Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot is aiming to convince AC Milan to sign him on permanently.
The Portuguese full-back left Old Trafford to join the Rossoneri on a season-long loan in the summer. His deal did not, however, include a provision to make the transfer permanent. (h/t Mirror)
One of Jose Mourinho’s last signings while in charge at United, injuries have prevented Dalot from asserting his place at Old Trafford.
In his three years at United, Dalot made just 35 appearances in all competitions. During this time he managed to score one goal while assisting two more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Since joining Milan in the summer, he has already made nine appearances, scoring a goal and assisting two more. He is on course to better his combined tally at United in nary a season at San Siro.
While he has gotten opportunities, he is not a guaranteed starter under Milan manager Stefano Pioli.
Most of Dalot’s minutes have come in the Europa League with him playing just 19 minutes in Serie A. According to the report, the upcoming weeks will be crucial for Dalot’s long-term stay in Italy. (h/t Mirror)
With Milan set to play four games in the next 10 days, it remains to be seen if Dalot will be given minutes in the Italian top flight. (h/t Mirror)
