Manchester United and Anthony Martial could part ways next summer
According to Eurosport (h/t MEN), Manchester United are considering the possibility of Anthony Martial leaving the club next summer.
The French international was the club’s top scorer last season. He also won the United player’s player of the year award and looked to be on the verge of finally fulfilling his potential.
However, he has failed to carry on with the purple patch of form in the current campaign. Martial has lacked the clinical edge he held and has scored just twice in 11 games so far.
Martial has largely followed up the most prolific season of his career with one that is speckled with forgettable moments.
He got sent off against Tottenham Hotspur and was also severely criticised by fans for his miss against PSG in the Champions League.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has publically backed his striker, the club are looking to restructure their attack. This could see the Frenchman leave the club, having not fulfilled the potential he has.
United signing Edinson Cavani has also shown up Martial. The Uruguayan is a veteran number nine and has impressed when called upon.
In fact, his second-hand performance against Southampton eclipsed anything Martial has so far done this season.

Martial’s debut against Liverpool promised much. He has shown moments of magic but has failed to convert it into a consistent run of performances.
Whether he still has a future at the club beyond this season remains to be seen.
