Jesse Lingard ready to reject Manchester United contract offers
According to Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport (h/t The Mirror), Jesse Lingard is set to turn down any new contract put forward by Manchester United.
This could see him leave the club as early as the January transfer window. Lingard is keen to secure more playtime and he is unlikely to receive that at Old Trafford.
With his current deal to expire in the summer, it was reported earlier that United could offer him fresh terms and extend his stay at the club.
However, the club’s decision to do so appears to be motivated solely by their need to preserve the player’s transfer value. Lingard has struggled to get minutes on the pitch and penning fresh terms is unlikely to change that.

The player also appears to be open to temporary switch in the new year. His representatives are exploring options ahead of the January window. Among the clubs in consideration are La Liga side Real Sociedad. (h/t Sky Sports)
Lingard started off well under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but faltered before going on to lose his spot in the team.
United were understood to have been keen on offloading Lingard in the summer earlier this year. This could be seen as an indication that the club is willing to do business.
As things stand, it is difficult to see the player have a future at the club. A parting of the ways will be the best option for all parties.
