Edinson Cavani rejected offers from two other clubs to join Manchester United
Speaking to Mondo Napoli via FC Inter 1908 (h/t MEN), Edinson Cavani has revealed that he rejected offers from two European giants before joining Manchester United in the summer.
The Uruguayan veteran was among four players signed by the club on deadline day. Having been released by PSG last season, we got ourselves an experienced and capable frontman on a bosman.
The 34-year-old has since rolled back the years and enjoyed an excellent start to life at Old Trafford.

According to the report, Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan both contracted Cavani to enquire about his services.
However, as someone who has previously played for Napoli, the Uruguayan turned down both offers. While it may have nothing to do with United, it is heartening to see a non-mercenary decision taken by the striker.
“I said no to many Italian clubs including Juventus, who called me often, and also Inter.”

Their loss is our gain as Cavani has taken to life at United like a fish to water. He has scored three times and assisted once in just 10 games so far. (h/t Transfermarkt)
While the record may not show a prolific streak, his performances as a whole have been excellent. The standout performance came in our come from behind win against Southampton.
Cavani came on as a substitute at half-time with United trailing 2-0. He made an assist and scored twice to ensure we kept within touching distance of the top of the Premier League.
