Manchester United are keeping tabs on Ben White
According to MEN, Manchester United have identified Ben White as a potential defensive reinforcement ahead of the January transfer window.
The Red Devils were linked with bringing in a center-back in the summer window. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ultimately decided he was satisfied with the options he already had.
That decision has since come back to bite us. United have so far conceded 17 goals in just 10 Premier League games so far.
The numbers however do not represent the complete picture. The backline has often looked porous with even previously dependable players such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka getting caught out.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have both borne the brunt of criticism, with the former’s leadership skills also pulled up for debate.
With the January window less than a month away, Solskjaer has now accepted the fact that he needs defensive reinforcements to challenge for the top four.
White is a promising player who returned to Brighton last sumemr after a successful loan spell at Championship winners Leeds United. The youngster’s ability to play out from the back is seen as a major draw.
A move for the Seagulls star will not be easy, with both Leeds and Liverpool keeping tabs on him. Brighton meanwhile does not appear keen to sell their defensive star this January. They could however be willing to do business next summer. (h/t Mirror)
