Man United star honoured by reputed monthly magazine for his selfless work

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford recognized for selfless work by GQ

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been recognized for his contributions in fighting child hunger by monthly magazine GQ.

The English international was the recipient of the outlet’s Campaigner of the Year award. He will feature on the front cover of the winter issue that will release next week.

Rashford has been a beacon of hope in these troubling times. It is good to see him get the credit he so richly deserves.

The young star belied his age to bring about much positive change in society. He forced the Government into a second U-turn in November. It saw Prime Minister Boris Johnson agreed to fund an extra £400million of free school meals

Rashford had already been honoured with an MBE for his efforts. He led the efforts to ensure that vulnerable children do not go hungry amidst the coronavirus pandemic. He continues to work alongside charity FareShare to help those in need.

Despite the success, he is far from done. In fact, in his own words, this is just the beginning.

“We’re just at the beginning of it, really. We need to see how much we can keep improving things for everybody.”

“Child poverty and hunger is a problem that shouldn’t exist at all and I’m just trying to bring as many people on board as possible.”

This was the 23rd edition of the GQ Men of the Year awards. The event was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rashford also featured on Vogue’s front cover for their September issue earlier this year. He shared the space with British model Adwoa Aboah.
